Flag Day is celebrated each June 14th to honor the date in 1777 when the United States approved the design for its first national flag.
There are 50 stars representing the 50 states and there are 13 stripes representing the 13 original colonies.
The American flag symbolizes respect and honor of our country and stands as a reminder to those who serve or have lost their lives in the line of service.
